Ten self-catering, two-bedroom log cabins set among Sodwana’s wild coastal forest. Just a short drive from the beach and the launch, each boasts a kitchen, a bathroom, a lounge-dining area and a deck for the end of a long day in the water.
This is the easy choice for a couple or small family: no tent to pitch, plenty of shady nooks to relax in nature, and private facilities to come back to after a dawn dive.

Sodwana’s camping ground is spread across nine named camps under the dune forest, and have long been popular with divers and families. All nine share the same core setting, shaded dune forest a short drive from the beach and launch, and the same facilities: hot and cold showers, braai areas and easy access for boats and trailers. What mainly separates them is size, so use that to judge which suits your group.
As the day winds down, the camping ground settles into braai smoke and campfire evenings under the dune forest, the classic end to a Sodwana day.

A number of the log cabins look out over the dune canopy to the Indian Ocean beyond, so morning coffee on the deck comes with the sound of the surf.

The same for every stay
All accommodation sits within the park, so ordinary gate times, entry fees and quiet hours apply. The Sodwana Bay Gate has 24-hour access, unlike the park’s seasonal gates – but reception and check-in still run to fixed hours, so arrange late arrivals with reservations in advance. Cabins are self-catering; shops in nearby Mbazwana cover food, ice and dive-trip basics. Book well ahead for the summer, the dive season and school holidays, when both cabins and prime sites fill months in advance.
Check-in runs from 14h00 to 16h00 on the day of arrival, and check-out is by 10h00 on the day of departure.
Our cancellation terms reward booking with certainty. If you cancel more than 45 days before arrival, only your 25% deposit is forfeited. Cancelling between 44 and 30 days before arrival forfeits half of the booking amount, and between 29 and 15 days, 80% of it. Cancellations made within 14 days of arrival, no-shows and early departures are charged in full.
